Local 689 WMATA Workers Ratify Strong Contract

August 20, 2024 -  ATU Local 689 announced that WMATA workers ratified a new contract between the Union and WMATA. Members voted throughout the day yesterday and results were tallied late last night.

The tentative agreement now has to be ratified by the WMATA Board of Directors. The Union is optimistic the Board will concur with its Members’ decision.
