Fairfax Connector Workers’ Union Reach Tentative Agreement on a New Contract

(Forestville, Maryland) March 5, 2024 - ATU Local 689 and Transdev reached a tentative agreement after a prolonged bargaining session that lasted all day for a new contract. Fairfax Connector workers have been on strike since February 22, 2024 over Unfair Labor Practices committed by the company. Today’s session was the fourth time the Union and the company met in person since the strike began.

Local 689 was able to win major transformative improvements to the contract that would guarantee retirement security for members, include competitive wages for bus operators and mechanics, and enhance the 40-hour guarantee, among other key Union priorities.

The Union expects to bring the tentative agreement to Fairfax Connector members for a ratification vote tomorrow, March 6, 2024, and is optimistic that it will be approved.
