Metro Contract Negotiations
We have been negotiating with the Authority since April 4th and although we have made some significant gains, those gains have been made in the non-economics section of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Personally the negotiating team feels that we should be further into the meat and potato part, simply put we should be discussing wages, pension and H&W.
The negotiations have been intense and we have hit several snags for a number of reasons. The changes in the economy has sent the best made plans into a constant state of flux. But both parties have the responsibility of creating the best situation out of this unpredictable environment. Local 689's team will put our best foot forward and make sure that every cent that we are entitled to receive is disseminated among all of the members of ATU Local 689.
